AI misrepresentation check
What is AI telling people about your business when you’re not there to correct it?
The question this service answers
What are AI systems telling people about this business, and where does that version differ from verified reality?
A one-time investigation into how major AI experiences describe your business, and where that description differs from what is actually true.
When this is useful
Is this the right question for you?
AI Misrepresentation Check is a focused service. It answers one defined question rather than bundling in a broader program.
- A customer told you an AI assistant said something about your business that was not right.
- Your hours, services, pricing, policies, location or ownership have changed and you do not know whether AI answers reflect that.
- You are being described alongside, or confused with, another business.
- You want to know what AI says before a launch, a campaign or a season starts.
- You suspect outdated information is circulating but you cannot prove where it is coming from.
Scope
What Goldeneye investigates
Goldeneye tests the questions a real customer would ask when deciding whether to choose your business, then captures what the answers actually say.
- 01Test real customer decision questions rather than brand-name prompts alone.
- 02Review the relevant AI systems for the way your customers search and ask.
- 03Capture the answer, any citations shown, and the material claims made about your business.
- 04Compare those claims against a verified business fact set you confirm with us.
- 05Trace likely source relationships only where observable evidence supports the connection.
How findings are evaluated
Evidence first, then interpretation.
Every material claim is categorized
- Accurate. The claim matches verified business information.
- Incomplete. Not wrong, but missing something a customer would need.
- Outdated. True at some point, not true now.
- Conflicting. Different systems or sources say materially different things.
- Unsupported or incorrect. The claim is not supported by verified information.
- Unable to determine. The evidence is not sufficient to categorize the claim.
Then materiality is assessed
Not every inaccuracy matters. Materiality reflects how likely the claim is to change a customer decision.
- Low. Unlikely to affect a decision.
- Moderate. Could create friction or a wrong expectation.
- High. Likely to cost or misdirect a real customer.
- Critical. Materially misrepresents the business, its eligibility, safety, compliance or ability to serve.
The Goldeneye evidence standard
- Observed. Something Goldeneye directly saw in a captured result, source or platform report.
- Supported inference. A reasonable conclusion the observed evidence supports, stated as an inference rather than a fact.
- Unknown. Something the available evidence cannot establish. Goldeneye reports it as unknown rather than filling the gap.
What you receive
What lands in your hands.
- A findings review showing what AI systems said about your business, in their own words.
- Each material claim categorized and rated for materiality.
- Observable source relationships where the evidence supports them, and an honest unknown where it does not.
- A clear disposition for every finding: correct, monitor, investigate further, or no action.
- A record you can retest against after source changes are made.
Important boundaries
- Goldeneye cannot directly edit what an AI model says. No provider offers that control.
- A finding does not prove exactly why a model produced an answer unless the evidence supports that conclusion.
- Retesting material findings is appropriate after source changes, because AI answers can shift over time.
- This is an investigation. Implementation and remediation are separate and are not included by default.
