Solutions: Improve

Fix what is holding discovery back.

What is Improve?

For when something is limiting visibility, understanding, representation or participation. Goldeneye establishes the evidence, identifies the finding, and then specifies what deserves work, in order. Scope and cost are confirmed once the findings are known.

Fix the condition that is actually limiting the outcome.

If this sounds familiar

  • We have a list of things to fix and no idea which one matters.
  • We keep changing the website and nothing changes in the results.
  • Different people have told us to do different things first.

What is actually limiting us? Most businesses do not arrive with one problem. They arrive with a list, and no way to tell which item on it is actually costing them customers this month. Content exists but is not earning visibility. Rankings exist but relevant customer decisions still exclude the business. Local information is inconsistent, or systems encounter conflicting descriptions. Pages are difficult to crawl or interpret. Content answers the wrong questions. Competitors are better supported by public evidence, or the business appears and is represented poorly. None of those symptoms proves a cause on its own.

The decision

What should we fix first?

Goldeneye establishes the evidence first, identifies the finding, and then determines which capability is justified. That work might involve technical SEO, local SEO, entity optimization, content architecture, AEO, GEO, strengthening sources and citations, measurement, or another relevant intervention. It is not a menu to choose tactics from. The finding determines what deserves work. Choose a finding to see what Goldeneye would change, why it matters, and what has to be settled before it.

Can wait

Slow, costly, or not yet justified

Every one of these is worth fixing. Only some of them are worth fixing first. Choose one and Goldeneye will show what would change, and what has to be settled before it can be done properly.

See Where You Stand

A check produces the findings this sequence is built from.

A business owner reviewing a short printed list of priorities at a desk overlooking a Southwest Florida marina

A short list in the right order beats a long list in no order.

What you get

A specification precise enough that your team, your agency or Goldeneye can carry out the work without guessing.

  • A sequenced plan, not a wish list

Each change stated in order, with what it depends on, so nothing is built on something that is about to move.

  • The change written out

What is being changed, on which page or source, and what it should say when it is done.

  • A way to tell whether it worked

What should visibly change once the work is live, so progress is judged on the position rather than on activity.

How the work runs

  1. Findings become a sequenceEverything discovered in a check is placed in order of what is costing you now, what depends on what, and what can wait.
  2. Scope and cost are confirmedOnce the sequence is agreed, the work is quoted against it. No open-ended retainer to find out what is wrong.
  3. The work is carried outGoldeneye does the work, or specifies it clearly enough for your team or your existing agency to do it.
  4. The position is re-checkedThe same evaluation is run again so you can see whether the change moved anything, rather than assuming it did.

The engagements behind this

Each outcome is worked inside a defined Goldeneye engagement, with its scope and price stated openly on its own page.

If your situation is different

  • You have not had anything evaluated yet

There is nothing to sequence until the findings exist.

  • The fixes are done and you want to keep moving

Continuous work on the signals that decide recommendation.

  • You want to know if it stays fixed

Sources change, and so do the answers built from them.

Related questions

How does Goldeneye decide what to fix first?
By dependency and cost of delay. Anything that makes your basic business facts uncertain is corrected first, because every later change depends on it. Work that is slow, expensive or structural is deliberately placed later, once the faster corrections have already moved the position.
Can our own team or agency do the work?
Yes. The findings are written as a specification, so your team or your existing agency can carry them out. Goldeneye can also do the work directly if you prefer a single point of responsibility.
Do we need a check before improvement work?
Yes. Improvement work is scoped against findings. Without an evaluation there is no way to know which changes matter or in what order, and the work becomes guesswork billed by the hour.
How long before anything changes?
Corrections to business facts and readable information can be reflected within weeks. Work that depends on other sources agreeing takes longer, because you are waiting for those sources to update rather than for the work itself.
