How it works

From a customer question to evidence, action and measurable movement.

How does an engagement run?

Five stages, always in the same order: Fit, Check, Act, Retest and Monitor. Each stage has a stated purpose, a stated ask on your time, and a decision point before the next one begins.

Before you commit to anything

  • How much of my time is this going to take?
  • What do I actually get, and when?
  • How do I know whether it worked?
  • What happens if it turns out I do not need this?

Working with Goldeneye follows the same five stages every time. You can see what happens in each one, what we are trying to establish, what is asked of you, and what has to be settled before anything moves forward.

The intelligence process

Conversation, Intent, Decision, Evidence, Finding, Action, Retest, Movement

One decision can appear in dozens of conversations. A customer rarely expresses the same decision in one fixed wording. The language changes, the constraints change, the context changes, and the underlying decision often stays the same. Goldeneye groups those related variations around the decision they represent. That is Conversational Intent Intelligence, or CII. CII measures the decision, not merely the prompt.

An answer is evidence. It is not automatically a finding. A single AI response, search result or citation can be useful evidence without being enough to support a broad conclusion. A finding says what the evidence supports, not what we assume, and it carries the basis it rests on. Every approved action traces back to a finding. If we cannot measure it again, we cannot show movement.

Agent Readiness evaluates the conditions underneath participation. CII evaluates participation across the decisions being measured. Readiness explains why. Conversations show where.

The engagement

Where are you in the process?

Fit, Check, Act, Retest and Monitor describes how a client works with Goldeneye. It is separate from the intelligence process above, which describes how an observed customer decision becomes defensible work. Every stage answers a different question and ends with something decided rather than something delivered on trust. Open any stage to see what happens inside it.

Stage 1 of 5

We establish what the business is trying to win, and whether visibility is the constraint.

A short conversation about the business, the customers it wants, and what is currently happening. Nothing is measured yet. The purpose is to decide whether a visibility problem is the real constraint, or whether something else is.

What the business experiences

  • One call, around 30 minutes, no preparation required
  • You are told plainly if this is not the right work for you
  • No commitment and no report at this stage

What Goldeneye is establishing

  • What the business sells, to whom, and in which locations
  • Which decisions customers make before they arrive or book
  • Whether the current problem is visibility, conversion, capacity or pricing

What moves this to the next stage

We move on when there is a clear commercial reason to measure. If visibility is not the constraint, we say so and the engagement stops here.

See Where You Stand

Everything after the first conversation begins with a measurement, so that is the first real step.

A worked example

How a conversation becomes a finding

One real customer question, followed the whole way through. This is an example business in an example situation, used to show what actually happens between somebody asking a question and something changing.

Somebody asks

Where should we stay for a family beach weekend near Naples?

Nobody in this conversation typed a hotel name. The answer is being assembled for them.

Step 01 of 08

What is this person actually trying to decide?

They are choosing where to stay. The decision is a family beach stay near Naples, with the things that come with it: space for children, distance to the sand, parking, somewhere to eat without a long drive. The wording is incidental. The decision is the thing worth measuring.

Decision intent
Family beach stay near Naples
What is being chosen
A hotel
Buyer need
Somewhere the whole family can stay near the water

That is one decision. A business has several.

The same sequence runs across the decisions that matter to your business, which is why the work is prioritised rather than attempted all at once.

Nothing is recommended before it has been measured and explained to you.

Movement

How position in a decision is described

  1. 1Absent
  2. 2Appearing
  3. 3Considered
  4. 4Shortlisted
  5. 5Recommended
  6. 6Recommended first

This is an observational framework rather than a guaranteed progression. A business can hold a stage, move forward, move backward, or sit at different stages for different decisions and in different environments.

The intelligence is complex. Working with it should not be.

Related questions

How long does the whole process take?
The first conversation takes around 30 minutes. Findings arrive roughly 5 to 7 business days after a complete intake. The work itself depends on what the findings show and is quoted with a stated scope before anything starts.
Do I have to complete every stage?
No. Many businesses stop after the Check and use the findings with their existing team or agency. The findings are written to be acted on by anyone.
How much of my time does this take?
Most of the effort sits with Goldeneye. You are asked for access, confirmation of business facts during intake, approvals while the work is under way, and a decision at each stage boundary.
What if the Check shows nothing serious?
Then that is the finding, and it is worth having. You are told where the business already stands well and where the remaining opportunity is, rather than being sold work that is not needed.
